Faisalabad, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 20th Aug, 2026) The Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF) hosted the concluding ceremony of a three-day professional training workshop on “Koha Library Management System and Artificial Intelligence for Modern Libraries”, organized by the Learning Resource Center (LRC) under the University’s Community Outreach Program.
Keynote Address
Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz), Vice Chancellor, emphasized the importance of continuous learning, professional development, and leveraging emerging technologies, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI). She highlighted that the true value of training lies in applying learned knowledge and sharing it with others.
Workshop Details
Attended by 60 library professionals and students from Faisalabad and surrounding areas, the workshop covered:
- Practical training in Koha library automation
- Cataloguing techniques
- Digital resources management
- AI applications in library services
Resource Persons
Misbah Bashir, Deputy Librarian, GCWUF, and Umair Farooq from the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF), served as expert trainers.
Outcomes
Certificates were distributed to participants at the conclusion of the workshop, acknowledging their successful completion.
