Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari delivered a statement at a press conference alongside Provincial Minister Bilal Yasin, criticising Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). She asserted, "You have been holding sit-ins for 14 years; you will get no more favour. The favour is gone now."

Referring to the political disturbances on May 9, she promised, "May 9 will not be tolerated a second time at any cost" and emphasised the unacceptability of such actions.

Bukhari questioned the PTI's inactions, noting that their promises of 10 million jobs and 5 million houses remained unfulfilled. She highlighted the difference between Punjab's housing project, which offers interest-free loans, and the previous government's initiative where citizens had to pay interest.

The Apni Chhat Apna Ghar programme received international recognition from UN-Habitat, earning a Scroll of Honour and solidifying Punjab's commitment to affordable housing. With over 230,000 homes constructed so far, Bukhari announced the province's ambitious target of building 1 million houses in 5 years.

Bilal Yasin, Provincial Housing Minister, praised the international award as an honour for Pakistanis worldwide and highlighted the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar project's rapid growth. He revealed that over Rs. 278 billion had been distributed interest-free to 220,000 families, with 122,000 already inhabiting their new homes.
