Zahid Bakhtawari, Vice President of Rawalpindi Cantonment Board, visited the mausoleum of Nishan-e-Haider recipient Lance Naik Muhammad Mahfuz Shaheed in his native village, Pind Malikan (Mahfuzabad), Rawalpindi, on Defence Day to pay tribute to the martyrs of September 6.

Lance Naik Muhammad Mahfuz Shaheed’s nephew, Lieutenant Colonel (Retd.) Naukhez Mahfooz, welcomed Zahid Bakhtawari and other guests. Also present were Uzair Zahid Bakhtawari, Additional Chief Warden Rawalpindi, Mehr Shahid Iqbal, Chief Warden Civil Defence Islamabad, Chaudhry Ghulam Mustafa, Civil Defence Officer Rawalpindi, Rehan-ul-Haq, Divisional Chief Warden, and other dignitaries.

Zahid Bakhtawari laid a floral wreath at the martyr’s mausoleum and offered Fateha.

Speaking on the occasion, Zahid Bakhtawari stated that September 6 is an unforgettable day in Pakistan's history, when the brave soldiers of the Pak Armed Forces demonstrated exceptional courage and made supreme sacrifices for the defence of the motherland. He emphasized that the sacrifices of Pakistan’s martyrs and veterans serve as a lasting source of inspiration, adding that the nation will forever remember its brave sons with honor and respect.

He specifically paid tribute to Lance Naik Muhammad Mahfuz Shaheed, describing him as a hero who is the pride of Pakistan and whose courage and sacrifice will continue to inspire future generations.

Zahid Bakhtawari reaffirmed the nation's unity with Pak Armed Forces for the security, sovereignty, and stability of the country.

Earlier, Zahid Bakhtawari presented honorary shields to Civil Defence staff in recognition of their services.
