Zhongshan Studio and PTV Sign Second Five-Year Cooperation Agreement
A New Chapter for China-Pakistan Cultural Exchange
BEIJING, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Sep, 2026) Shaanxi Zhongshan Culture Media Co., Ltd. (Zhongshan Studio) and Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV) have formally signed a second five-year cooperation agreement in Islamabad.
The two organizations will collaborate extensively through documentaries and factual-image productions, using film as a bridge for civil and cultural dialogue. This partnership aims to deepen China-Pakistan people-to-people exchanges, support initiatives under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and promote mutual understanding within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
Muhammad Ramzan Ali, Director of the International Relations Division of PTV, signed the agreement on behalf of PTV Director-General, Ashfaq Ahmad Khalil. Senior officials from various departments of Pakistan Television Corporation attended the ceremony. Both parties recognized their strong cooperative foundation, with numerous previously co-produced documentary works broadcast on PTV, showcasing the social landscapes and Silk Road cultural heritage of both countries.
Under this new framework, Zhongshan Studio and PTV will jointly develop and produce humanities-themed documentaries, focusing on "Light and Common Journey," a significant national foreign publicity project. Their collaborative efforts will highlight China-Pakistan friendship, the inheritance of Silk Road civilizations, and regional connectivity within the SCO.
They will also engage in multi-faceted activities such as film screenings, filmmaker exchanges, and archival-footage sharing.
A representative from Zhongshan Studio expressed gratitude to PTV's International Relations Division for their efforts in finalizing this agreement. They emphasized the studio's commitment to documentary creation, telling stories of China-Pakistan friendship, and fostering cultural communication.
The senior official from PTV's International Relations Division noted that China-Pakistan's all-weather strategic friendship demands consistent cultural and people-to-people interactions. They anticipate producing more high-quality co-produced documentaries over the next five years, offering Pakistani audiences a genuine perspective on contemporary China while enriching Chinese audiences with insights into Pakistan.
