$13.9 Billion Received in Roshan Digital Accounts by August: State Bank
Overseas Pakistanis deposited $259 million in August alone, according to a report.
KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 13th Sep, 2026) The State Bank of Pakistan stated that over $13.9 billion had been received in Roshan Digital Accounts (RDA) by August 2026, with overseas Pakistanis depositing $259 million in August alone.
According to central bank data, 9,354 new Roshan Digital Accounts were opened in August 2026, bringing the total number of accounts to 966,144. The data revealed that $2.13 billion had been repatriated through Roshan Digital Accounts, while $12 million was withdrawn from the accounts during August.
The State Bank reported that $164 million of the funds deposited in Roshan Digital Accounts was utilized domestically in August, totaling $8.7 billion locally.
Approximately $3 billion remained deposited in Roshan Digital Accounts as of August 2026.
The data further showed that $716 million had been deposited in Naya Pakistan Conventional Certificates, while $1.332 billion had flowed into Naya Pakistan Islamic Certificates. Investments of $166 million were made through Roshan Equity Investment, with over $2.2 billion invested through Roshan Digital Accounts over the past six years.
The State Bank emphasized that Roshan Digital Accounts have become a significant means of providing overseas Pakistanis with access to banking, investment, and other financial services in Pakistan.
