198,637 Patients Treated In Punjab Govt Hospitals In A Day
LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 8th Sep, 2026) The Department of Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Punjab has released its one-day service delivery report for September 7, highlighting the continuous provision of quality healthcare under the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
According to the report, 198,637 patients received medical care in 57 government teaching hospitals across Punjab within a single day. Of these:
- 137,997 patients availed Outpatient Department (OPD) services.
- 60,640 patients were provided emergency medical care.
The report noted the following procedures conducted during the day:
- 2,221 surgeries
- 693 CT scans
- 1,959 MRI scans
- 454 angiographies
Diagnostic tests were performed on 77,800 patients, and free medicines worth Rs59.8 million were dispensed.
The department emphasized that these figures underscore the Punjab government’s commitment to ensuring accessible and quality healthcare for all citizens across the province.
