200,000 Trees To Be Planted In Hub District: Commissioner Lasbela

QUETTA, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 7th Sep, 2026) Commissioner Lasbela Division Saira Atta on Monday chaired a meeting to gain target of planting 200,000 trees across the district, including industrial areas of Hub.

She emphasized the importance of trees for the environment, citing their roles in providing oxygen, reducing pollution, supporting wildlife, and maintaining nature’s balance.

Present at the meeting were: Deputy Commissioner Hub Juma Dad Mandokhel, Superintendent of Police, Hub Mirza Bilal Hassan, and Deputy Director Forest.

Forest officials outlined plans:

  • Phase 1: Plant 15,000 trees with district police cooperation.
  • Phase 2: Plant 100,000 trees in industrial and urban areas, collaborating with the LIEDA Chamber of Commerce.
  • Ongoing Effort: A tree plantation campaign will start in Shipbreaking and other areas, building on successful planting of 100,000 trees at Hub Dam, which have flourished into a safe haven for wildlife while preserving the natural environment.

Commissioner Atta pledged strict monitoring of Forest Department projects and ensured protection of forest lands.
