45% KP Govt Schools Have Satisfactory Walls, Roofs and Facilities: Survey
PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – September 11, 2026) A province-wide assessment of 34,265 government schools has revealed that only 45% have fully satisfactory walls and roofs, while 26% were rated as unsatisfactory.
The survey, encompassing all 36 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, showed the following condition of school infrastructure:
- Walls & Roofs: 45% (satisfactory), 29% (partially satisfactory), 26% (unsatisfactory)
- Doors: 79% (satisfactory), 16% (partially satisfactory), 5% (unsatisfactory)
- Windows: 63% (satisfactory), 30% (partially satisfactory), 7% (unsatisfactory)
- Lights & Fans: 65% (satisfactory), 22% (partially satisfactory), 13% (unsatisfactory)
- Writing Boards: 84% (satisfactory), 12% (partially satisfactory), 4% (unsatisfactory)
Cleanliness was also assessed, finding:
- Classroom Cleanliness: 61% (satisfactory), 22% (partially satisfactory), 17% (unsatisfactory)
- School Grounds: 57% (satisfactory), 25% (partially satisfactory), 18% (unsatisfactory)
