61st Defense Day Commemorated in Jeddah

JEDDAH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Sep, 2026) The Consulate General of Pakistan, Jeddah, joined by the Pakistani community, held a commemorative event to mark the 61st Defense Day of Pakistan.

The event commenced with a recitation of the Holy Quran and the national anthems of Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Attended by a significant number of community members and local media, the event featured remarks paying tribute to the nation and its defense forces in the war of September 6th, 1965. Special messages from the President, Prime Minister, and the Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister of Pakistan were read out. A special documentary focusing on the 1965 war was also screened.

Consul General of Pakistan in Jeddah, Syed Mustafa Rabbani, highlighted the sacrifices rendered by the brave soldiers of Pakistan's Defense Forces. He paid tribute to the martyred men and women and their families, praising the valour and sacrifices of the armed forces in defending the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity. He emphasized the need for unity and dedication to support the country in overcoming challenges.

The Consul General also noted the armed forces' successes throughout history, including recent operations like Marka-e-Haq and Bunyan-ul-Marsoos. He praised Pakistan's unwavering commitment to diplomacy as a peace-maker.

The event, brimming with nationalism and pride, concluded with emotionally charged speeches, patriotic songs, and collective prayers for the martyrs of Pakistan.
