71 Sub-inspectors Promoted To Inspector Rank
LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - September 07, 2026) Seventy-one sub-inspectors of the Punjab Police have been promoted to the rank of inspector after being found eligible on merit and under the prescribed rules, police said on Monday.
The promotions were approved at a meeting of the Promotion board chaired by Additional Inspector General Imran Arshad on the directions of Punjab Inspector General of Police Abdul Kareem.
According to a police spokesperson, the first phase of the Promotion Board meeting had been completed, during which 300 cases were considered. The promoted officers include:
- Seven sub-inspectors from Lahore
- 19 from Rawalpindi
- Eight from Multan
- Two from Bahawalpur
- One from Sahiwal
- Two from Dera Ghazi Khan
- Eight from Gujranwala
- Three from Gujrat
- 11 from Faisalabad
- Four from Sheikhupura
- Six from Sargodha.
IGP congratulated the newly promoted inspectors and directed them to serve citizens selflessly and protect them without fear.
The police spokesperson said the second phase of the Promotion Board meeting will be held in the coming days, considering more than 300 additional cases for promotion to the rank of inspector.
DIG Establishment-II Suleman Sultan Rana, DIG Headquarters Dr Muhammad Abid Khan, DIG Establishment-I Abdul Qadir Qamar, AIG Discipline, AIG Legal and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
