The public’s concern lies not in new provinces but economic reforms, according to Dr. Maleeha Lodhi. She argues that the debate over new provinces has divided the country, while the actual need is for unity. She describes the proposal for new provinces as a mere drama.
An IPSOS survey reveals that 76% of Pakistanis believe the country is heading in the wrong direction.

PTI’s X account quotes Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Leader of the Opposition, stating that the Constitution of Pakistan clearly outlines the process for forming provinces. However, achieving provinces through administrative orders, modeled after districts, is deemed a direct attack on Pakistan’s foundation.
Achakzai warns:
"We warn these forces that, in the
event
of any such unconstitutional action, it will not be possible to contain the public reaction, and the entire nation will take to the streets in
protest
.
Pakistan
can no longer afford any such crisis or adventurism."
