80 Percent Work Completed On Rs890.5 Mln Hasilpur Sewerage, Water Supply Project
BAHAWALPUR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 27th Aug, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Syed Hasan Raza chaired a review meeting on the Mega Urban Sewerage and Water Supply Scheme in Hasilpur. The meeting discussed the project’s progress, physical completion, and future actions.
It was informed that approximately 80 percent of the physical work on the project, estimated at Rs890.5 million, has been finished. Work on remaining components is progressing swiftly. The scheme encompasses:
- Construction and installation of a sewerage system
- Water supply lines
- Disposal works
- Pump houses
- Water supply infrastructure
- A filtration plant
Rehabilitation of roads and provision of other civic amenities are also part of the project, which aims to enhance the drainage channel’s capacity from 2,500 cusecs to 3,050 cusecs and widen it from 90 feet to 130 feet.
Deputy Commissioner Raza directed authorities to expedite remaining work within the set timeline, emphasizing quality, transparency, and adherence to the approved design. He instructed relevant officers to monitor progress continuously, focusing on construction work’s quality.
Raza stated that completing the Mega Urban Sewerage and Water Supply Scheme on time will improve Hasilpur residents’ sewerage and water supply services, enhance the city’s drainage system, and alleviate local civic issues.
