Nepal: A 97-year-old’s Resilience in the Face of Flash Floods

A 97-year-old woman, Guna Maya Bohara, pulled from flood debris in Nepal, is recovering in hospital. Her great-nephew, Dipak Bohara, described her as looking like "a warrior" who had returned from battle.
The operation to rescue Bohara from the rubble of her care home took four hours. Bohara travelled from Kathmandu to assist in the rescue efforts.
Hundreds of deaths have been confirmed following Wednesday’s flash floods, which scientists believe were triggered by a glacier collapse in the Himalayan region bordering Tibet.
