Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled Bin Mohamed Al Nahyan Meets Iranian President

The two leaders discussed the situation in the Middle East and matters of mutual interest on the sidelines of the BRICS summit.

New Delhi, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 12th Sep, 2026) Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed Al Nahyan and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian held an important meeting in New Delhi.

According to media reports, President Pezeshkian met Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in New Delhi, where they discussed matters of mutual interest.

Reuters reported that the BRICS summit, chaired by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, and UAE Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, among other leaders.

Negotiators at the summit agreed on a draft joint statement, which is expected to condemn unilateral aggression by any country without naming a specific nation.

Meanwhile, Chinese President Xi Jinping stated that BRICS countries should stand firmly on the right side of history. Addressing the BRICS summit, President Xi said China would work with BRICS members for peace in the Middle East and Gulf. He noted:

"The war in the Middle East has caused serious losses for people across the region, and that the conflict is not in the common interests of the international community."

President Xi urged BRICS countries to play a more active role in establishing global peace and intensify efforts toward peaceful and diplomatic solutions to conflicts. He added that China was ready to work with other BRICS members and contribute to achieving peace and stability in the Middle East and Gulf region.

Describing BRICS as an important force of the Global South, President Xi stated that the organization should play a more effective role in promoting global peace, development, and multilateral cooperation. He announced that China would assume the BRICS chairmanship in 2027 and host the organization’s 19th summit.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin remarked that the unipolar world order, which protects the interests of a limited number of countries, was becoming a thing of the past. He noted fundamental changes occurring globally in geopolitical, geoeconomic, technological, and social spheres.
