Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council Completes Over 205,000 Laboratory Tests in Q2

ABU DHABI (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM – 01st Sep, 2026) The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (ADQCC) has completed over 205,000 laboratory tests during the second quarter of 2026, intensifying market surveillance through the inspection of 33,173 products and verification of 3,976 legal measuring instruments.
This initiative forms part of an integrated system aimed at:
- Ensuring product and service quality
- Protecting consumer rights
- Strengthening market reliability in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi
Council Statistics:
- The Markets and Consumers Sector conducted inspections covering 33,173 products via field inspections and online platforms.
- The sector also verified 3,976 legal measuring instruments, enhancing market measurement accuracy and reliability.
- Additionally, 353 products and 6,430 packaging samples were verified.
- 17 products (equivalent to 37 items) were withdrawn, and nine products (725 items) were corrected.
Monitoring Recalled Products:
The Council identified 41 products subject to global recalls found in UAE markets, emphasizing the need for proactive monitoring of product movement and stronger oversight of locally traded goods.
Specialized Testing:
The Central Testing Laboratory Sector performed a total of 205,520 laboratory tests across various fields, including:
- 35,994 tests on food and liquids
- 162,511 on water
- 45 on medicines and medical equipment
- 1,953 on building and construction materials
- 473 on transformer oils
- 3,754 environmental tests
- 475 agricultural tests
- 176 tests on cosmetics
- 127 general tests
- 12 technical consultations
These services cater to diverse testing needs, from food and water safety to medicines, construction materials, and cosmetics, ensuring product and commodity safety and providing reliable technical data for informed decision-making.
Metrology Services:
The Emirates Metrology Institute contributed to improving measurement efficiency and accuracy by offering:
- 141 calibration services
- 10 inter-laboratory comparison services
- 17 technical consultancy services
Conformity and Standards Services:
The sector processed 2,450 applications, including renewals and licenses for conformity certificates and the Trustmark.
