AC Unit Explosion Triggers Fire at PIMS Nursery, Says Health Minister

Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal expressed deep grief on Wednesday following the alleged explosion of an air-conditioning unit in the intensive care ward for children at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), resulting in a fire that claimed the lives of 14 newborn babies.
According to a statement from the Ministry of National Health Services, Kamal stated that the presence of oxygen in the ward exacerbated the blaze. He confirmed that relevant administration and law-enforcement agencies were present at the scene to investigate the cause of the fire and establish the facts.
The health secretary and other ministry officials accompanied him at PIMS. Kamal extended his condolences to the bereaved families, praying for the departed souls and seeking patience and strength for their families during this difficult time.
