Pakistan Peoples Party Central Information Secretary Nadeem Afzal Chan has stated that access to information is essential for transparency, accountability, and public participation. He noted that access to information is a fundamental requirement of a democratic society.
According to him, access to information empowers citizens, enabling them to make informed decisions regarding their rights and national affairs. He also emphasized the role of state institutions in providing accurate, timely, and reliable information. However, he expressed regret over the fact that the law is not being implemented in Pakistan in accordance with its spirit.
