Differences have emerged between the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Tehreek Tahafuz Aain Pakistan leadership over postponing the long march.
A private tv channel, citing sources, claimed that Tehreek Tahafuz Aain Pakistan said it was neither consulted about the September 27 long march nor taken into confidence over its postponement. It stated that the leadership was not informed about the march's starting point or its route.
According to Tehreek Tahafuz Aain Pakistan, the PTI leadership neither formed a coordination committee for the long march nor demonstrated any preparations. They claimed that no administrative or finance committee had been established for the event.
The group asserted that they provided the PTI with a detailed agenda for the long march but that the decision to postpone it was made without consultation. They also stated that PTI workers were angry about the postponement.
Tehreek Tahafuz Aain Pakistan further claimed that the PTI did not consult them regarding the October 4 long march. They asserted that there have been no behind-the-scenes contacts with the group, while Barrister Gohar claimed there are such contacts.
The group believed that the PTI should have held the long march on September 27 and ensured its arrival in Islamabad by October 4.
