Action Against Kite Flying in Lahore; Two Arrested with Chemical Twine and Kites

Lahore police made two arrests during an operation against kite flying in the provincial capital. Milt Park police arrested Rashid from Awan Chowk with 65 reels of chemical twine and 40 kites, while Gulshan Ravi police detained Nadeem with five reels of chemical twine. A total of 70 reels of chemical twine and 40 kites were recovered from the two suspects.
Police stated that the suspects had violated government orders, and cases have been registered against Rashid and Nadeem under the Punjab Regulation of Kite Flying Act. DIG Operations Faisal Kamran emphasized strict action against kite flying, noting that a single kite’s string could damage the lights of several households. He reminded that kite flying is permitted only during the Basant festival and that lawbreakers would face severe consequences.
