The Federal government has decided to take action against government officers who fail to submit declarations regarding their dual citizenship and that of their family members. A circular has been issued directing PAS, PSP, SG, and OMG officers to submit these declarations within one week.

The circular requires them to provide details of:

  • Foreign citizenship
  • Travel documents
  • Marriages to foreign nationals

The Establishment Division has instructed all ministries and divisions to ensure compliance with these instructions, warning of action against officers who fail to submit declarations within the specified timeframe.

Per the circular, violations will be handled under the Civil Servants (Efficiency and Discipline) Rules. Chief secretaries and provincial police officers are also directed to oversee adherence to these instructions.

Government officers had previously been given 90 days to submit declarations concerning foreign citizenship. Failure to submit a declaration or providing false information will be considered misconduct.

Offers were required to declare their foreign citizenship under the Foreign Citizenship Rules.
