Economy Boost: Pakistan Exports 70,000 MT Rice to Malaysia
ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Oct, 2026) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday stated that an additional export of 70,000 metric tons of Pakistani rice to Malaysia would significantly benefit the national economy and support farmers' prosperity.
He emphasized the government's priority to enhance access to global markets for Pakistan's agricultural products, committing to sustained efforts towards export-led economic growth.
The Prime Minister commended the relevant ministries and authorities for their successful negotiation of the additional rice export volume, scheduled from October to December 2026. He attributed this achievement to effective diplomatic and commercial endeavors aligned with his vision.
Shehbaz Sharif praised the dedicated team, specifically mentioning Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Ishaq Dar, Federal Ministers, and Federal Secretaries of National Food Security and Commerce for their valuable contributions.
