LAHORE (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Sep, 2026) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Shafi Jan has made a statement regarding a receipt for Punjab Chief Minister’s aircraft expenses: "After Form 47, here is Receipt 47; the receipt, too, turned out like their seats."
He addressed concerns on X about the receipt's date, emphasizing that it was submitted on the 17th and received on the 18th. He also questioned how Maryam Bibi paid nearly Rs225 million from her own pocket, given her total assets declared to the Election Commission of around Rs250 million.
This comes after a controversy surrounding a bank challan receipt for Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz's London trip, where the receiving stamp bears the date September 18, while the payment date is shown as September 17.
Geo news shared an image of the National Bank receipt, raising further questions. The report states that Maryam Nawaz paid Rs27,194,004 to the Punjab government for her foreign visit from September 5-9, 2026.
The Punjab government and Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s spokesperson have yet to offer an explanation regarding this receipt.
