Agreement Signed To Digitize Birth, Death Records At Social Security Hospitals

Punjab Social Security, National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), and the Local Government Department on Tuesday signed an agreement to digitally record and register births and deaths at Social Security hospitals.
The agreement was signed during a ceremony led by Provincial Minister for Labour Muhammad Mansha Ullah Butt. Commissioner Social Security Zulfiqar Ali Kharal signed on behalf of Punjab Social Security, while Director General NADRA Punjab Fizza Shahid and Director General Local Government Benish Fatima signed on behalf of their respective departments.
Under the agreement:
- Birth and death data generated at Social Security hospitals will be recorded through a modern digital system.
- This data will then be transmitted through NADRA’s digital platform to relevant Local Government authorities for registration.
Muhammad Mansha Ullah Butt, speaking at the event, stated:
"This initiative aligns with Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision of Digital Punjab and will help translate this vision into practical measures for modern and transparent public service delivery."
He further emphasized the importance of timely and accurate registration of births and deaths for effective planning and improved public services. The Punjab government, he added, is focusing on modern technology and digital solutions to enhance service delivery.
