Agriculture Machinery Import Increased by 25.87% in FY 2026-27’s First Month
ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – Sep 1, 2026) The import of agriculture machinery into the country during July 2026, the first month of the current financial year, saw a significant surge of 25.87% compared to the same period last year.
According to data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, agriculture machinery worth $18.161 million was imported in July 2026, a substantial increase from the $14.429 million imported during the corresponding month of FY 2025-26.
Overall Machinery Group imports into Pakistan witnessed a 41.27% growth, with machinery worth $1.310 million being imported in July 2026, against $927.956 million the previous year.
In contrast, imports of the agricultural and other chemical group increased by 11.15%, reaching $1.098 billion in June 2026 compared to $893.823 million in June 2025.
Fertilizers, specifically, saw over 67,810 metric tons imported during the first month of the current fiscal year, valued at $64.843 million. This is a decrease from the 71,096 metric tons imported in July 2025, which were worth $42.229 million.
Pesticides imports stood at over 3,630 metric tons in July 2026, totaling $19.743 million, a drop of 18.03% compared to the same period last year.
Additionally, 213,516 metric tons of plastic materials were imported during this period, valued at $325.171 million, marking a 7.79% growth over the previous year’s imports.
