AJK Forests Minister Vows to Strengthen Governance, Protect Forest Resources

Newly inducted Minister for Forests, Wildlife and Fisheries of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Colonel (Retd) Waqar Ahmed Noor, on Monday paid his first visit to the Directorate of Forest Regeneration Mirpur after assuming charge of his portfolio. He reviewed the department’s affairs, ongoing projects, and forest protection measures.
During his visit, the minister planted a sapling, emphasizing the importance of forests and afforestation. Secretary Forests Muhammad Fareed Chaudhry, Chief Conservator of Forests Principal Sardar Iftikhar, and other senior officials were present.
