Al Zorah Golf Club in Ajman to Host 2nd Edition of Cedars Golf Championship
The Cedars Golf Championship is returning to the UAE for its second edition, with Al Zorah Golf Club in Ajman hosting the event from 2nd to 4th October, 2026. Organised by the Lebanese Golf Federation in collaboration with the Emirates Golf Federation, this tournament signifies the continuation of sporting cooperation between the two federations and their shared vision to promote golf development in the region.
The three-day competition will comprise 54 holes of individual stroke play, qualifying for the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR). It presents participants with an opportunity to enhance their international rankings through high-level competition.
The second edition builds upon the success of the inaugural tournament, further establishing the UAE as a premier destination for regional and international sporting events, thanks to its top-notch golf facilities and exceptional organisational capabilities.
The championship aligns with the Emirates Golf Federation’s goals to expand the range of tournaments in the UAE, attract more international participants, and strengthen ties with Arab and Gulf golf federations.
The men’s category winner will secure the chance to compete in one of the HotelPlanner Tour events held in the UAE during 2026 or 2027. Additional prizes will be awarded for the best overall and net scores in both the men’s and women’s categories.
Retired Major General Staff Pilot Abdullah Al Sayed Al Hashmi, President of the Emirates Golf Federation, expressed his joy regarding the championship’s return to the UAE, attributing it to the strong cooperation and mutual trust between the UAE and Lebanese Golf Federations.
He stated, "We are thrilled to welcome our Lebanese brothers and sisters and host the Cedars Golf Championship once again in the UAE, following the success of its inaugural edition." He assured the Federation’s full support in providing organisational and technical assistance for a successful tournament.
The event also serves as a platform to strengthen cooperation with Arab and Gulf federations, facilitating the exchange of expertise and offering players more opportunities to compete and develop. Hosting this tournament contributes to the UAE’s efforts to expand its tournament calendar, attract international participants, and elevate Arab golf on the global stage.
