All-Punjab Quaid-e-Azam Athletics Championship Set to Showcase Emerging Talent

(FAISALABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 11th Sep, 2026)) The sporting ground in Chak Jhumra is poised to become a hub of athletic prowess as preparations reach their climax for the All-Punjab Quaid-e-Azam Athletics Championship. This event aims to bring together aspiring athletes from across Punjab, fostering a spirit of competition and promoting healthy lifestyles.

A spokesperson for the Punjab Athletics Association revealed that the championship, organized in collaboration with the association, will kick off on September 17, 2026, offering a platform for individuals unaffiliated with government or private entities, as well as college and university students, to showcase their athletic abilities.

The event promises a diverse range of track and field events:

  • Sprint races: 100m and 400m.
  • Distance races: 1500m, 3000m, and 5000m.
  • Field competitions: long jump, high jump, and triple jump.
  • Throwing events: javelin throw and discus throw.

Additionally, other traditional and modern athletics disciplines will be featured.

To motivate athletes, cash prizes worth Rs10,000, Rs6,000, and Rs4,000 will be awarded to the top three finishers in each category.

Beyond competition, the championship aims to identify and nurture grassroots sporting talent. Athletes interested in participating can contact Organizing Secretary Babar Jalal for further details and registration.

Notably, Syed Haider Ali Shah, a prominent figure, and several renowned athletes from across the province will attend, offering encouragement to the participants.
