Ambassador Hashmi Inaugurates Pakistan Pavilion At CIFTIS 2026, Highlights Growing Economic Ties With China
Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, inaugurated the Pakistan Pavilion at the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) 2026 in Beijing, emphasizing Islamabad’s efforts to strengthen economic and commercial ties with China.
The 204-square-metre pavilion, established by the Embassy of Pakistan in collaboration with IBI Guolian Gufen, will serve as a platform for business-to-business (B2B) engagements between Pakistani and Chinese companies throughout the trade fair.
Speaking at the inauguration, Hashmi noted that this was his third such pavilion inauguration, reflecting the increasing momentum behind Pakistan’s economic diplomacy in China. He highlighted that six B2B conferences held under the initiative had generated numerous joint-venture memorandums of understanding (MOUs), with a conversion rate of around 30 percent.
He welcomed the growing participation and support of both Pakistani and Chinese businesses. The Pakistani delegation includes prominent entrepreneurs and business leaders, such as the Chairman of the One Belt One Road Group, the CEO of RIC Nexus, and the Chairman of the Pakistan Chemicals & Dyes Merchants Association.
A major CIFTIS conference scheduled for September 11 will bring together over 75 companies from Pakistan and China, exploring opportunities for partnerships, joint ventures, and expanded bilateral trade.
The Pakistan Pavilion is expected to facilitate business meetings and connect companies from both countries during the fair. This initiative underscores Pakistan’s efforts to promote itself as an attractive investment destination and deepen economic cooperation with China.
"Pakistan is open for business," emphasized Hashmi, reaffirming Islamabad’s commitment to expanding trade and investment ties with its largest regional economic partner.
