Ambassador Siddiqui Pays Tribute to Pakistan Armed Forces on Defense & Martyrs’ Day
Ambassador of Pakistan to Iran, Imran Ahmed Siddiqui, has paid rich tribute to Pakistan’s Armed Forces for their sacrifices in the service of the nation. Addressing a ceremony to mark Defense and Martyrs’ Day of Pakistan held on Sunday night at Pakistan House, Tehran, the ambassador emphasized the importance of diplomacy, dialogue, and confidence-building in resolving differences.
He stated that Pakistan is prepared to defend its sovereignty and national interests, including the vital Indus water resources, through legitimate means. The ambassador highlighted that national security extends beyond traditional boundaries to include economic resilience, social development, technological capacity, and ensuring energy, food, water, and health security.
Siddiqui observed that the best tribute to those who laid down their lives is to build a secure, prosperous, and confident nation that chooses peace over confrontation. He thanked Brig. Seyed Hamzeh Ghalandari, Iran’s Deputy Defense Minister and DG International Relations at the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics, for gracing the occasion as the chief guest, adding that his presence further solidifies Pak-Iran bilateral relations.
Earlier, Brig. Nasir Aziz Khattak, Defense and Army Attache at the Embassy of Pakistan, emphasized the significance of Defense and Martyrs’ Day, highlighting the selfless sacrifices of brave soldiers who countered various aggressive military campaigns against the country. He also remembered the struggle of people in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, who have endured years of injustice and brutality.
Brig Gen Seyed Hamzeh Ghalandari, Iran’s Deputy Defense Minister, congratulated Pakistan on its Defense Day, noting the establishment of security along the common border of Iran and Pakistan through close relations and cooperation in recent years.
