Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and President of PML-N Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Engineer Amir Muqam, on Friday stated that all constitutional stages in Azad Kashmir, including the election of the president, have been completed smoothly. He urged political groups to resolve differences through dialogue rather than protests and sit-ins.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Amir Muqam congratulated Dr. Muhammad Najeeb Naqi Khan on his election as President of Azad Kashmir, citing the process as a positive message for the region. He also expressed gratitude to the people and all contributors to the electoral process. The minister further confirmed the smooth election of Prime Minister Barrister Iftikhar Gilani.

Emphasizing the importance of unity, the minister stressed that "protests and sit-ins cannot resolve problems; issues can be resolved through negotiations." He appealed to protesters to become part of the political and democratic process.
Amir Muqam voiced concern for the impact of political tensions on the people of Azad Kashmir, calling for the avoidance of further unrest and damage. He affirmed the strong and continuing relationship between Pakistan and Azad Kashmir.

Noting the increasing terrorist incidents in the province, he called for practical measures to address the security concerns. Amir Muqam maintained that political rallies and protests are not solutions to the problems facing KP.
He challenged the provincial government to account for its actions over the past 13 years in areas such as education, healthcare, employment, institutional strengthening, and development. He urged that resources allocated to the province be directed towards these development priorities. The minister also paid tribute to police and security personnel for their sacrifices in combating terrorism.
