ANF Seizes 392.48 Kg Of Drugs Worth Over Rs 48.2 Mln In Eight Operations
The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF)on Monday conducted eight operations across the country and apprehended seven suspects, recovering 392.48 kg of drugs worth over Rs 48.2 million.
International Drug Interdiction Operations:
- During an operation at Peshawar Airport, ANF recovered 38 heroin-filled capsules weighing 230 grams from a passenger traveling to Jeddah.
- At Jinnah International Airport, 6.25 kg of ice soaked in clothes was seized from a passenger’s baggage also headed for Jeddah.
Domestic Operations:
- Near Jacobabad, 36 kg of hashish and 13.4 kg of ice were recovered from a vehicle, leading to the arrest of the driver.
- In Sheikhupura, authorities seized 7.2 kg of hashish, 2.2 kg of opium, and 1 kg of ice from a motorcycle rider.
- Near Ring Road in Peshawar, 3.6 kg of hashish was recovered from a rickshaw, resulting in the arrest of two suspects.
- Near Hazarganji in Quetta, 300 kg of opium was seized, and 21.6 kg of hashish was recovered near Janjal Goth in Karachi.
- In an inter-provincial operation near Jamshoro Toll Plaza, 1 kg of weed was recovered from a suspect.
Legal Actions:
Cases have been registered under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act (CNSA), 1997, and further investigation is ongoing.
