iPhone Duo: Apple Addresses Screen Issues

Apple has announced it will replace iPhone Duo handsets with screen problems, just days after the device's highly-anticipated release.

Photos shared on social media demonstrate lines appearing on the screens of the technology giant's inaugural foldable phone, which retails for £1,999 ($2,668) in the UK.

The company acknowledged an issue impacting the inner display on a small number of units and urged affected users to contact them for a replacement.

The Duo's launch, marked by long queues at Apple stores worldwide last week, aims to revitalize the brand's catalog and compete with rival foldable phone manufacturers.

Some Duo owners also shared online photos showcasing cracks along the screen's central crease, while others reported a crunching noise when opening the device.

The Duo's 7.6-inch (19.3cm) inner display is held together by a central hinge—a complex engineering solution that has led to flaws in folding devices from some competitors, such as Samsung's Galaxy Fold, which suffered broken screens during its 2019 debut.
