Armed Men Abduct Former Provincial Minister Ali Hassan Chanhyo From Home

A financial dealings matter also appears to be involved, while an investigation has been launched, SSP Sanghar said; MNA Shazia Marri expressed concern.

Incident Details

Former Sindh provincial minister and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader, Ali Hassan Chahnyo, was allegedly abducted from his residence in Khipro by armed men. According to eyewitnesses, the perpetrators arrived in two vehicles, entered the house, assaulted Ali Hassan Chahnyo’s security guards, and locked them in a room before taking him away.

Response & Investigation

Following news of the incident, hundreds gathered outside Haji Ali Hassan’s residence. Sanghar SSP confirmed that police had received information about the event, adding that it appeared to be related to a financial dispute. A further investigation was initiated.

Meanwhile, PPP Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Shazia Marri voiced serious concern over the broad-daylight abduction of former provincial minister Hassan Ali Chahnyo from Khipro. She contacted the administration for his safe recovery, expressed solidarity with the family, and directed police to ensure his safe return.
