Armed Suspect Arrested After Police Encounter In SBA
UrduPoint (September 16, 2026) - Shaheed Benazirabad police have claimed the arrest of an injured suspect following a confrontation with armed criminals within Ali Abad Police Station's jurisdiction.
According to a police spokesperson, Ali Abad SHO and his team were patrolling near Sukkur Link Road in Daulatpur Shakh Mori when they encountered armed suspects. The suspects opened fire, prompting a defensive response from the police. During the exchange, one suspect was wounded and captured while his accomplices escaped into the night. Police have sealed off the area and are conducting a search to track down the fleeing criminals.
The arrested individual is identified as Nadir alias Badshah, son of Muhammad Yousuf Rind, a resident of Mehran Colony, Sakrand. Police seized a 30-bore pistol and ammunition from his possession during the arrest. Initial investigations suggest that the suspect has been involved in numerous cases of theft, robbery, and other serious crimes. Police records indicate that he is charged in several cases registered at Sakrand and Ali Abad police stations under various sections of the Pakistan Penal Code, Sindh Arms Act, and Control of Narcotic Substances laws between 2019 and 2026.
Senior Superintendent of Police Shaheed Benazirabad, Sumeer Noor Channa, praised the performance of the Ali Abad team, highlighting their bravery. He emphasized that protecting citizens' lives and property is a top priority and assured continued operations against criminal elements without exception.
