Asad Umar Reveals He Decided to Quit Politics in August 2021

Former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) secretary general and former Federal minister Asad Umar has opened up about his departure from the party. He reveals a timeline vastly different from public perception, stating he decided to leave politics in August 2021, a decision he shared with close friends, including journalist Kashif Abbasi.
However, Asad Umar clarifies that he faced direct pressure to leave the party in November 2023.
He highlights a perceived double standard in medical relief, noting that Nawaz Sharif was permitted to travel to London based on health risks and sympathy, while unnecessary doubts were raised about the medical reports of Dr. Yasmin Rashid and Dr. Faisal Sultan.
Regarding the current political landscape, Asad Umar believes PTI has no choice but to protest and organize a long march. He addresses concerns about public participation, noting that while PTI supported the creation of new provinces in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the past, they never backed new provinces in Sindh on administrative or political grounds.
