ATC Records More Witness Statements in Nov 26 Protest Case Against PTI Leaders
ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 9th Sep, 2026) The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) of Islamabad on Tuesday recorded statements of four more prosecution witnesses in the November 26 protest case involving Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, Meena Khan Afridi and others.
The court also adjourned further proceedings until September 10. The hearing was conducted by ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra.
During the proceedings, statements of four additional prosecution witnesses were recorded, bringing the total number of witnesses whose statements have been recorded in the case to 42.
According to the case record, the First Information Report (FIR) names Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi along with more than 15,000 unidentified suspects. The prosecution alleges their involvement in the November 26 protest incident.
The trial is currently continuing against eight accused persons before the Anti-Terrorism Court. Proceedings are being carried out separately against those facing trial in the case.
The court was informed that proclaimed offender proceedings are ongoing against Sohail Afridi, Dr. Amjad Khan and other accused persons who have not appeared before the court.
After recording the witness statements and reviewing the progress of the case, Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra adjourned the hearing until September 10 for further proceedings.
The case against Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders and workers was registered at Secretariat Police Station in Islamabad.
