LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 21st Aug, 2026) An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday dismissed the post-arrest bail petitions of four alleged members of a banned religious organisation in cases involving rioting, arson and violence against police personnel.
Key Points:
- ATC Judge Shahid Sikandar announced the decision, rejecting the bail pleas of accused Mutiullah, Muhammad Tabish, Abbas and Afzal.
- The prosecution opposed the bail applications, arguing that the accused were allegedly involved in attacking police personnel, participating in acts of arson and rioting.
- They maintained that the accusations against the accused were serious and that the circumstances of the cases did not warrant their release on post-arrest bail.
- After hearing arguments from both sides, the ATC dismissed all four bail petitions.
A case against Afzal has been registered at Shahdara Town police station, while Mutiullah is facing a case registered at Shahdara police station. Muhammad Tabish is accused in a case registered at Bhikki police station in Sheikhupura, while Abbas is facing a case registered at Kot Lakhpat police station.
