Trump Proposes Military Complex and Triumphal Arch
US President Donald Trump has announced updates to his proposed triumphal arch, stating it will also serve as a "top grade" military complex. In a Sunday post on Truth Social, Trump revealed the arch will be equipped to deploy drones and snipers, and store significant amounts of sniper ammunition.
He attributed this change to the "strong request" of the US military and "national security purposes." The arch, Trump claimed, will be unique globally, stating, "There will be no facility like this anywhere in the World."
Initially planned for a site across the Potomac River from Washington DC, construction on the 250-foot arch was set to begin this month. The design featured a golden Lady Liberty atop the arch, flanked by gold eagles, and inscribed with "One Nation Under God" and "Liberty and Justice for All."
Trump's recent announcements come amidst his pursuit of several renovation projects in Washington DC, including a gilded Oval Office, a $400 million White House ballroom, and renovations to the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.
