The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has failed to improve governance and prevent terrorism, according to Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar.

Tarar maintained that detention under the Maintenance of Public Order (3-MPO) law was lawful. Speaking to journalists in Islamabad, he highlighted the government's inability to curb terrorism, noting significant terrorist incidents in Kohat and Dera Ismail Khan. He emphasized that additional funds were allocated annually through the National Finance Commission (NFC) to combat this issue.

Regarding Governor’s Rule, Tarar considered it premature, arguing that every sector, from health to education, had been severely impacted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He suggested that the PTI's political strength was waning and questioned Sohail Afridi's ability to lead a long march.

The minister visited Kohat, Charsadda, and Peshawar, witnessing firsthand the governance failures. He emphasized the need for politics to take a back seat while prioritizing the well-being of the people. Tarar also accused the Afghan government of supporting terrorism, promising a strong response against terrorists.

In closing, he stated that politics would continue but urged focusing on freeing people from terrorism.
