Attock Police Launch Crackdown Against Anti-social Elements, Arrest 10

ATTOCK, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 10th Sep, 2026) Attock police, acting on the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Capt. (R) Ali bin Tariq, intensified its crackdown against anti-social elements and arrested 10 suspects, including two proclaimed offenders, from different areas of the district.

According to police sources, the arrested suspects were found in possession of 3,980 grams of hashish, 27 litres of liquor and a 30-bore pistol. Police stated that:

  • Basal police arrested Shabbir Ahmed, Taimoor, Zulfiqar Ahmed, Shehzad Ahmed and Waqas Ahmed during a crackdown, recovering 3,980 grams of hashish and 27 litres of liquor from their possession. They were charged with drug trafficking in separate cases.
  • Rango police arrested Shahid Khan, Umar Amin and Ghulam Rasool, residents of Peshawar, and seized a .30-bore pistol from them. A case was registered against them for illegal weapon possession.
  • In another operation, police apprehended proclaimed offenders Saddam Hussain and Humayun, who were wanted in cases related to theft, cheating and criminal breach of trust.

DPO Capt (R) Ali bin Tariq instructed police officers to continue indiscriminate action against criminals and anti-social elements, ensuring the protection of citizens’ lives and property. He emphasized that drug peddlers and such elements pose a grave threat to society, particularly to the youth. The crackdown aimed not only to curb crime but also to shield young people from the pernicious effects of drugs and criminal activities.
