Australian High Commissioner Visits Child Protection Institution
UrduPoint (7th Sep, 2026) – LAHORE (APP): Australian High Commissioner Timothy Kane visited the Faisalabad Child Protection Institution on Monday at the invitation of Chairperson of the Child Protection and Welfare Bureau (CPWB) Punjab, Sarah Ahmed.
Sarah Ahmed welcomed the Australian High Commissioner and provided him with insights into the initiatives and services offered by the CPWB under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif for the protection, education, training, rehabilitation, and welfare of children.
Present during the visit were CPWB Director General Kashif Nawaz and Focal Person of Faisalabad Child Protection Institution Ayesha Watto.
Kane inspected various facilities at the institution, including children’s hostels, music class, games zone, stitching unit, IT lab, and therapy room. He also participated in activities with the children, such as dot painting, and cut a cake with them, creating a warm atmosphere.
Sarah Ahmed expressed her joy regarding Kane’s visit and highlighted the CPWB’s desire to strengthen cooperation with Australia in child protection and welfare. She emphasized the importance of international partnerships for ensuring a safe and bright future for Pakistan’s children.
The CPWB, she added, is committed to protecting, rehabilitating, and educating children and helping them become productive members of society.
Australian High Commissioner Timothy Kane praised the services provided by the Child Protection and Welfare Bureau for child protection, care, and rehabilitation. At the end of his visit, Sarah Ahmed presented a commemorative shield to Kane.
