Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader and Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Huzaifa Rehman has claimed that backdoor contacts between the government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) are still active. However, he stated that due to PTI's violent protest tactics, the matter had reached its final stage, potentially leading to governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as protests cause a daily national economic loss of Rs120 billion.
Speaking on the blockade of Islamabad and Punjab, Rehman described their efforts to protect Attock Bridge. He recounted how they welded strong iron sheets for 10 days, only for protesters to tear them down by hand and throw them into the river.
Rehman argued that this time, the issue is not temporary but requires a permanent solution. He expressed pessimism about the future, stating, "I do not see things moving in a good or better direction."
Regarding Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's political situation, Rehman suggested Chief Minister Sohail Afridi is losing control. He didn't rule out the possibility of governor’s rule being imposed.
