Bajwa Directs RDA To Intensify Action Against Illegal Housing Schemes
UrduPoint (29 August, 2026) - RAWALPINDI (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News): Parliamentary Secretary for Housing, Urban Development and Public Health Engineering (HUD&PHE), Sultan Bajwa, on Saturday directed the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) to intensify enforcement against illegal housing schemes and protect citizens from unauthorised projects.
During a review meeting of RDA's ongoing development projects held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Bajwa appreciated the authority's efforts in infrastructure improvement and planned urban development.
Komal Chaudhry, Director Engineering RDA, presented details on various completed and ongoing projects, including the recently finished Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR). Muhammad Tahir Meo, Chief Planner RDA, briefed participants about approved and illegal housing schemes and regulatory measures taken by the authority.
Noting the prevalence of illegal housing schemes, Bajwa strictly directed the RDA to take action against such schemes as per law and intensify enforcement to safeguard citizens from unauthorized projects. He emphasized the need for effective regulation in housing schemes for sustainable urban development and instructed the RDA to ensure strict adherence to approved rules and regulations.
