  • Policy Change: LDA has directed that cat eyes will not be installed in the middle of future roads, regardless of their design or development cost.
  • Safety Measures: However, yellow safety cat eyes can be placed on specific edges for traffic safety, and there’s scope to install them at lane ends as needed.

Past Issues with Cat Eyes

In the past, cat eyes were commonly installed between roads, but this practice has been criticized for:

  • Increasing construction costs.
  • Damaging vehicle tires.
  • Potentially affecting traffic flow and causing accidents.

New Guidelines

According to these new guidelines, cat eyes will only be permitted on specific edges, enhancing road safety while avoiding the previous issues.
