Punjab Bar Council Vice Chairman Chaudhry Qaiser Nazir Sahi and Executive Committee Chairman Arshad Ali Hanjra have issued strict directives to bar associations across the province regarding the proper use of funds. They emphasized that:
- Bar association funds are not for personal or discretionary use.
- These funds are held in trust and should only be utilized for lawful, legitimate purposes aligned with the association’s objectives.
These directives were prompted by a review of financial affairs during audits conducted by the Punjab Bar Council Finance Committee.
Key Points:
- Legal Compliance: Every expenditure must have a lawful and legitimate connection with the association’s affairs and objectives and must be fully documented after proper approval.
- Prohibited Uses: Bar association funds cannot be used for Umrah, pilgrimages, tourism, personal travel, or any other private expenses. This restriction applies to all office-bearers, committee members, and individuals.
- Disciplinary Action: Any violation, especially unauthorized use for personal purposes, will be taken seriously. It may lead to disciplinary and legal action against the responsible office-bearer.
- Transparency and Compliance: The Punjab Bar Council has directed all bar associations to ensure complete transparency in fund usage and strict adherence to legal requirements, rules, and regulations.
