The anchorperson claimed that Sohail Afridi has limited chances of survival, while the system allegedly seeks to remove him and two or three others.

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Sep, 2026) Analyst and anchorperson Muneeb Farooq shared insights on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa politics, the proposed creation of new provinces, and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)'s internal affairs.

While speaking on senior journalist Rauf Klasra's program, he revealed that when Barrister Salman Safdar was reached for confirmation on rumors regarding PTI founder Imran Khan's message about Sohail Afridi, Safdar stated that his last meeting with Khan was in April, unrelated to the ongoing long march.

Farooq suggested Noreen Niazi could provide more recent insights as she had met Khan most recently, despite her current incarceration.

Similarly, when Barrister Gohar was contacted, he dismissed the reports as absurd, questioning how Sohail Afridi could retain his position if Khan had sent such a message, given Ali Amin Gandapur's resignation over a singular instruction from Khan.

Muneeb Farooq emphasized PTI's dire situation, claiming powerful circles expressed strong dissatisfaction when Sohail Afridi became the chief minister. He asserted that the system aims to remove Afridi and "two or three key figures" from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, describing the situation as urgent.

Discussing political and constitutional changes, Farooq termed rumors of a national emergency as "100 percent fake and baseless." However, he predicted the imposition of governor's rule or an emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was imminent.

He further stated that the creation of new provinces was progressing swiftly, with efforts in high gear. Although Article 239(4) requires a two-thirds majority in the relevant provincial assembly for a new province, Farooq suggested removing this constitutional obstacle through an amendment, paving the way for new province formations.
