Bazm-e-Rooh Rihan to Observe Death Anniversary of Poet Imdad Hussaini on August 30
Bazm-e-Rooh Rihan will remember renowned poet, Imdad Hussaini on his 4th death anniversary on August 30. This literary event will be held at the office of Anjuman-e-Taajiran Sindh, Qasimabad, on Sunday.
About Imdad Hussaini:
The foremost poet of Sindh, Imdad Hussaini, was born in Takkar on March 10, 1940. He received his primary education in a village school and went on to complete Matric and Intermediate in Hyderabad. He then earned a B.A. (Hons) and M.A (Sindhi) from Sindh University.
During his student days, he worked part-time at the Sindhi Dictionary Office and Sindhi Folk Literature Project. Later, he was appointed as a librarian in the Sindhi Literary Board. In 1970, he became a research fellow at the Institute of Sindhology, followed by an appointment as a subject specialist (Sindhi) in the Sindh Textbook Board in 1973. From 1977 to 1979, he served as the editor of the quarterly Mehran. Hussaini, considered the greatest poet in the Sindhi language, passed away on August 27, 2022, in Karachi. His literary contributions are cherished and remembered.
This event aims to pay tribute to his remarkable body of work.
