You cannot achieve anything through such theatrics; anyone attempting to storm Islamabad will face severe consequences. Don’t go into a dead end from which there is no way back—at a press conference.
LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Sep, 2026)
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has stated that this time, the Islamabad High Court’s orders will be implemented strictly to put an end to protest politics once and for all.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore, he expressed strong displeasure, stating that the entire nation is witnessing the security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while the provincial government's inaction has become evident to everyone. He said that neither the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister nor any provincial minister or assembly member attended the funerals of the martyrs who laid down their lives for the country.
Naqvi emphasized that political differences should not lead to a point where people refrain from attending the funerals of national martyrs, adding that these martyrs belonged to all of Pakistan, not to any individual.
Discussing PTI’s proposed long march, the interior minister noted claims about storming Islamabad from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but asserted that no unlawful demands could be fulfilled through such low tactics and theatrics. Such marches and sit-ins would harm the country, the economy, and the participants themselves, he warned, advising PTI to avoid entering a path with no way back.
Mohsin Naqvi claimed that a majority of PTI’s central leadership did not support the long march and that those talking about it didn’t even understand their own demands. He stressed that nothing would be achieved through boasts. The demand for Imran Khan to undergo a medical examination at a hospital had already been met, and he had been examined at the hospital during the night.
The government would conduct affairs according to the Constitution and law, not under anyone’s pressure, Naqvi said, adding that Islamabad would not be shut down this time as the country could not repeatedly endure such sit-ins.
