Larkana Organizes Boxing Competitions for Defense Day
Larkana, September 09, 2026 (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News) — On the special directives of Sindh Provincial Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Muhammad Bakhsh Khan Mahar, the District Sports Department organized boxing competitions at the Muhammad Ayub Khuhro Sports Complex in Larkana, marking Pakistan’s Defense Day on September 6.
The event was attended by Abdul Nabi Sario (District Attorney and District & Sessions Judge, Larkana), Muhammad Mahfooz Makani (District Sports Officer Larkana), Ikhtiar Ali Jamali (senior sportsman), and others.
Competition Details:
- Girls’ Category: Ghulam Fiza from Silva Blue Corner Boxing Club emerged as the champion while Baby Afroz from Silva Red Corner Boxing Club secured second place.
- Boys’ Category: The Blue Corner Boxing Team, represented by Aftab Ali, won first place, while the Red Corner Boxing Club, with Sajjad Ali and Muhammad Zaki, took second.
Awards:
After the competitions, trophies and certificates were distributed to the winning and runner-up teams. Awards were also presented to all participating players.
Speeches:
Abdul Nabi Sario (District Attorney), Muhammad Mahfooz Makani (District Sports Officer), and other guests spoke about the Sindh Government’s commitment to promoting sports to provide young people with healthy and positive activities. They highlighted the support of Ajaz Ahmed Laghari (Chairman District Council Larkana) and Advocate Anwar Ali Luhur (Mayor Municipal Corporation Larkana) for organizing more sporting events in Larkana next year.
Cultural Program:
The program began with the national anthem, followed by the presentation of Ajraks to respected guests. Participants shouted slogans of "Pakistan Zindabad" and "Pak Army Zindabad." Shields were also presented to Muhammad Aslam Khokhar (Information Officer Larkana), Abdul Ali Lark (Senior Photographer), Ikhtiar Ali Jamali (senior sportsman), Khalil Ahmed Bugti, and others.
