Briton Rescued in Nepal Alongside 118 Nepalese People After Deadly Floods
BBC News reports that a British national has been rescued in Nepal alongside 118 Nepalese people, according to a spokesperson for the country’s army. This comes nearly a week after deadly floods hit the country, killing over 1,000 individuals. More than 3,900 people remain unaccounted for, with many believed trapped in mud-filled tunnels at hydropower sites along the Trishuli River.
The British national has not yet been identified. Among the rescued Nepalese citizens, 44 are female and 74 are male. It was previously reported that 33 British nationals were missing in Nepal due to the floods.
The rescue operation is led by an international team comprising Chinese and Nepalese military personnel, with experts from India, Korea, and Australia also participating.
